New E Cargo Bike for Castleknock Tidy Towns

🚲💚 Great news for CTT!

A big thank you to Fingal County Council Active Travel for allowing us to pilot their eCargo bike for the past two years. It has been a fantastic asset to our Saturday work, helping us transport tools, plants, watering cans and green waste around Castleknock without using cars.

Since May 2024, we’ve travelled 401 km on the bike and it has helped us transport green waste to our 35 compost bays, recycling approximately 90% of green waste. This also contributed to avoiding FCC truck collection journeys – around 3,320 km of vehicle travel. 🌱

Following the success of the pilot, we’re delighted that FCC Climate Action has now funded a new eCargo bike for CTT! 🎉

A huge thank you to FCC — and to all our volunteers who have made such great use of the bike. Another great example of CTT putting sustainability into action. 🚲🌿
