Tree Planting 5th Feb '22

castleknocktidytowns

Over 200 trees were planted yesterday in Castleknock by 15 CTT volunteers. These were a mixture of native trees (hawthorns, blackthorn, hazel, alder and silver birch) as bare rooted plants, known as 'whips'.

Thanks to Fingal County Council, who provided planning support and guidance. And to Dale Treadwell (http://www.heritageinschools.ie/heritage-expert/profile/dale-treadwell) who worked so hard digging the holes with an auger (pronounced awger, not ogre!). Thanks to Roderic O'Gorman, T.D. who made the time to come along and help out.

The refreshments provided by Myo's afterwards were most welcome, especially given the cold, wind and sleet on the day. Well done to everyone who took part.
