This Guinness house in the centre of the village had been vacant for over thirty years and was deteriorating rapidly and at great risk of vandalism. The vacant premises behind it had been burned down maliciously. Castleknock TidyTowns played a significant part in preserving and restoring this historic building by contacting the owner encouraging him to take positive actions which resulted in the property being put on the market. The new owner has carried out a substantial restoration and the scaffolding has just been removed revealing the great work carried out to secure and enhance the property for generations to come. A great win for Vibrant Castleknock Village.
