Park Ave Open Orchard Project

An innovative Open Orchard was planted at the entrance to Park Avenue by CTT this week.

Change X funding enabled us to purchase 9 established apple trees capable of bearing fruit this Autumn. We will have apple blossoms to enjoy in the Spring and fruit each Autumn. So children enroute to their schools each day will pass by and see the progress as the apples form and ripen. The idea is to bring back a connection in our minds between the food we eat and how it grows.

There was great engagement from the community; this is an exciting project inspiring people to become involved with us. Fingal County Council's approval and support for this project has been invaluable. We look forward to our Change X project 'bearing fruit' later this year.
