Thank you all for the great work today!
We made excellent progress across a number of areas. The leaf mould cages were turned and watered, helping to speed up the decomposition process and improve the quality of the final compost. It’s a small but important action that supports soil health.
We also cleared dock leaves from the centre grass strip on Auburn Avenue, giving the wild grass corridor a much neater appearance. We’re starting to see new growth emerging naturally in this area — a great sign that nature is responding to our rewilding efforts. There was even a sighting of some mushrooms ( quite big, hand glove size!)
The pollinator bed on the church green was weeded and tidied. A big thank you to the Laurel Lodge Environmental Group (LLEG) for sharing their surplus bark. CTT volunteers collected and transferred it to the bed today, giving it a fresh finish while helping retain soil moisture.
The variety of cakes today was just gorgeous and very welcomed after the mornings’ work.
Another great team effort. Thank you all for coming out today.
Every small job adds up to a big impact!
