Saturday Clean Up 12th 19th 26th September & 3rd October
Lots of activity in September and the beginning of October
Saturday 12th Sept we planted up the planters in the Village with plants for the winter season. Keeping the village bright for the autumn and winter season.
Saturday 19th Sept we moved lots of plants from the polytunnel and planted them outside the Phoenix Park Gate on the Castleknock Road. Keeping the entrance to the Park beautiful for all to enjoy.
Saturday 26th Sept Tree planting Day! We planted 8 Apple and 2 Plum trees on Park Drive Green expanding the orchard which was planted last March. Thanks to Fingal County Council, who kindly prepared the planting holes in advance. Around the fruit trees, we planted 200 crocus bulbs, along with yarrow and vetch. In the centre, we created a small rockery and added wild strawberries propagated in the CTT polytunnel.
Park Drive Green is another very special green space in Castleknock. It’s well worth a visit to see the orchard, flowers and wild strawberry rockery and watch the space develop.
Saturday 3rd October Bulb planting Day! We planted 4000 Crocus bulbs on College Road grass verge. Thanks to Fiona for the planning and preparation.
It will bring a great splash of colour for walkers, runners, cyclists and commuters in early spring
