There was a huge turnout and lots of festive cheer at the annual lighting-up ceremony of the Castleknock Christmas tree.

Seven year-old Elian Pérez - our youngest Volunteer - had the special honour of lighting the Christmas Tree this year.

The event began inside St Brigid’s Church with a short performance by the award-winning St Brigids NS choir. The official lighting of the Christmas tree followed outside, accompanied with carols by the Castleknock Tennis Club choir. Refreshments in the church was a great treat to mingle and enjoy the atmosphere.

We thank Reverend Colin of St Brigid’s Church for letting us use the venue, and the fantastic choirs of St Brigid’s NS and the local Tennis Club for providing such wonderful entertainment which really added to the festive atmosphere. We were delighted to have many local public representatives in attendance. Thanks to FCC for having the tree ready and waiting for us! Thanks to all our volunteers for your support. Thanks to local Castleknock residents, families and children who truly made the event a very special one.

The Village is now brighter with this beautiful Christmas Tree.
