This year’s CTT AGM kicked off with a warm welcome to everyone. It was fantastic to see a strong interest from the local community, with over 40 attendees joining us on the night.
Many residents, sports clubs, local groups and public representatives came along keen to learn more about what's happening in the area and to hear about CTT’s plans for the year ahead.
Chairperson Patricia Sheehan opened the evening with her address, reflecting on the many projects and activities CTT delivered over the past 12 months. She highlighted CTT’s aim below and the positive impact CTT’s initiatives have had on our local area.
CTT’s Aim to keep Castleknock looking well, in good order and to foster and promote the following:
• community spirit
• an environmentally-friendly ethos
• a rich biodiversity
for the benefit of all residents and the community at large.
Patricia thanked Fingal County Council, Public Representatives, Castleknock Lawn Tennis Club, Sports Clubs, Local School Students, Residents, Parish Centres, Myos, Wongs, O’Briens, Local Businesses, All sponsors, CTT committee and volunteers who contribute and support CTT initiatives.
Treasurer James Anderson followed with an update on fundraising efforts and a clear breakdown of CTT’s Income and Expenditure for 2025.
One of the evening’s highlights was an impressive presentation by committee member Evelyn Pender titled Bees and bumblebees in Castleknock from her award winning distinction from the Irish Photographic Federation. Evelyn shared inspiring photographs of her display of 15 mounted photographs, which were taken mainly in her own garden in Castleknock.
We were delighted to be joined by special guests including Emer Currie TD, Roderic O'Gorman TD, Cllr. Eimear Carbone Mangan, Cllr. John Walsh, Cllr. Ellen Troy and Cllr. Ted Leddy – all of whom offered their support for the evening and our ongoing work.
Congratulations to Iveth Soto, one of our volunteers who won the free raffle prize – a Beautiful framed photograph and plant.
The evening ended with tea, coffee, home-baked cakes and a glass of wine which was a lively sociable engaging wrap up to the AGM.
A heartfelt thank you to the Parish Centre for providing the space, O'Brien's for sponsoring the wine, everyone who helped organise the event, brought along cakes, contributed to the discussions, and made the evening such a success. The AGM was once again, a meaningful and informative gathering for our community.
