On 8th Dec Castleknock still looked and felt distinctly autumnal with paths of russet leaves and bright winter sunshine. By the following day, a cold snap had rolled in and a very different looking village emerged. Hard frost, freezing fog and showers of sleet gave us treacherously slippy paths, difficult driving conditions but some very pretty scenes particularly on 16th Dec at the 12th Lock where some of the canal was frozen solid.
