Superb weather added to the fun atmosphere on Saturday's weekly Clean Up. Almost 30 volunteers showed up! Bags upon bags of litter were collected particularly along the Navan Road. More verging work was carried out along the paths on Auburn Avenue. The rose bed was weeded! An Tánaiste, Leo Varadkar T.D. dropped by to meet the volunteers and see some of our work. He donned a high viz bib and worked alongside us before getting a mini tour to see our latest Open Orchard and hear about what the group has achieved so far this year. He was particularly taken by our having enabled the planting of 1,000 trees since January. He gave us very positive feedback and encouragement before heading off to his next appointment. Our litter picking efforts were part of An Taisce's National Spring Clean April initiative. It was a really worthwhile and very enjoyable day!
